Perlweiss is Volkswagen paint code L87. Volkswagen used L87 on the Beetle, Kaefer, Karmann Ghia, Transporter T2 from 1957 to 1970. L87 is a solid, high gloss finish. Perlweiss also appears as code T4 13. Perlweiss is sold as Pearl White in other markets.

The kit is mixed to the L87 formula — the same code printed on your vehicle’s paint label — not colour-matched by eye. On panels that still carry their factory paint, that reproduces the original tone.
Where it will not match
- Panels bleached by years of sun sit lighter than the factory formula. The kit reproduces the original colour, not the faded one.
- A panel that has already been resprayed is no longer the factory colour, so the code will not describe it.
- Metallic and pearl finishes are harder to blend across a large area than solid colours — they are at their best on chips and thin scratches.
- Damage larger than a few centimetres, or down to bare metal over a wide area, is body-shop work.
