VolkswagenEmailweissTouch Up Paint — Paint Code L283
Emailweiss is Volkswagen paint code L283. Volkswagen used L283 on the ID.7 from 1974 to 1975. L283 is a solid, high gloss finish. Emailweiss is sold as Enamel White in other markets.
Will L283 match my Volkswagen if the paint has faded?
The kit is mixed to the L283 formula — the same code printed on your vehicle’s paint label — not colour-matched by eye. On panels that still carry their factory paint, that reproduces the original tone.
Where it will not match
Panels bleached by years of sun sit lighter than the factory formula. The kit reproduces the original colour, not the faded one.
A panel that has already been resprayed is no longer the factory colour, so the code will not describe it.
Metallic and pearl finishes are harder to blend across a large area than solid colours — they are at their best on chips and thin scratches.
Damage larger than a few centimetres, or down to bare metal over a wide area, is body-shop work.

Scratches barely noticeable
Watched YouTube video demo and followed it. Easy to use and excellent results. You really need to be on top of it to notice anything was done.
