TeslaDark Grey PrimerTouch Up Paint — Paint Code 900097
Dark Grey Primer is Tesla paint code 900097. Tesla used 900097 on the Model S, Model X from 2012 to 2025. Of the 14 Tesla grey colours ordered from us, 9 have been ordered more often than Dark Grey Primer.
Will 900097 match my Tesla if the paint has faded?
The kit is mixed to the 900097 formula — the same code printed on your vehicle’s paint label — not colour-matched by eye. On panels that still carry their factory paint, that reproduces the original tone.
Where it will not match
Panels bleached by years of sun sit lighter than the factory formula. The kit reproduces the original colour, not the faded one.
A panel that has already been resprayed is no longer the factory colour, so the code will not describe it.
Metallic and pearl finishes are harder to blend across a large area than solid colours — they are at their best on chips and thin scratches.
Damage larger than a few centimetres, or down to bare metal over a wide area, is body-shop work.
