Hellrot is BMW paint code 314. BMW used 314 on the 3-Series, M3, 5-Series, Z4 from 1994 to 2009. 314 is a solid, high gloss finish. Hellrot is sold as Bright Red in other markets. Of the 57 BMW red colours ordered from us, 9 have been ordered more often than Hellrot.
The kit is mixed to the 314 formula — the same code printed on your vehicle’s paint label — not colour-matched by eye. On panels that still carry their factory paint, that reproduces the original tone.
Where it will not match
Panels bleached by years of sun sit lighter than the factory formula. The kit reproduces the original colour, not the faded one.
A panel that has already been resprayed is no longer the factory colour, so the code will not describe it.
Metallic and pearl finishes are harder to blend across a large area than solid colours — they are at their best on chips and thin scratches.
Damage larger than a few centimetres, or down to bare metal over a wide area, is body-shop work.

UPDATE: COLORNDRIVE answered my query and advised me to add some lacquer thinner to the dried paint to make it usable again. I did, and that worked fine! They also offered to replaced the dried paint if I paid shipping.…
